I am a registered psychologist focused on providing individual adult and child psychotherapy. I take an integrative, interactional and brain-based approach to therapy with an overarching aim to facilitate healing, mobilise resilience and develop interactional & relational wellness. I offer a stable, compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic space for people from all walks of life. I am also a Brainspotting consultant, providing consultation and supervision to therapists who are training in this transformative modality.

My therapeutic skill-set includes, among others, Brainspotting, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Interactional Pattern Analysis, and hypnotherapy. I am a certified Brainspotting practitioner and consultant, and an internationally accredited hypnotherapist. When working with children, I utilise a flexibly sequential model of play therapy, and my experience covers working with traumatised children.

My psychotherapeutic services and experience cover the following:

  • Therapy for adults and adolescents facing a wide variety of adjustment difficulties and anxiety and mood related difficulties

  • Therapy for trauma & treatment of PTSD, including sport trauma (injury rehab, performance blocks, abusive coaching), medical trauma (accidents, hospitalisation, surgery, having experienced life support including intubation and resuscitation)

  • Therapy for children age 8 + who have experienced trauma or abuse

  • Therapeutic interventions to assist with exam preparation, studying and/or exam anxiety – for secondary school or university students or professionals  (e.g. CA / Law board exams, MBA etc)

  • Coaching for self-leadership, interpersonal effectiveness and building self-confidence (age 16 - 30)

More about me

I trained as a psychologist in Johannesburg, South Africa, where I worked in private practice and in school settings for 7 years before moving the UK. I have focused my professional development in the area of therapy, and have been intentional in developing therapeutic skill to work with adults and children. I have supported people in recovering various forms of trauma, including developmental and complex trauma, medical trauma and trauma from violent crime, including various forms of assault and domestic violence, as well as religious and spiritual trauma. I appreciate how intergenerational trauma and historical and current racial, ethnic and heteronormative oppression can add to the complexity of trauma treatment.

I am particularly mindful of extending a gentle, caring and supportive welcome to

  • People who may be in emotional pain, but find the vulnerability involved in opening up  about this difficult or unsafe. I am aware that this often applies to men

  • People who are in need of support but are distrusting or skeptical of therapy

  • People who are traumatised or feel emotionally vulnerable

  • People who fear they may be judged
